2005 Chicago to Mackinac Race - read all about it!

This website will be the best source of news, updates for crew, friends and  family.

25 July It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. - As some of you have heard, we had a great Mac race (4th in division, 16th overall) but the old engine has decided to finally die on us.  We were towed off Mac Island by Dave West and the crew of Chippewa and the boat is now in St Ignace. We will most likely sail it down to Sarnia for repairs and, sorry to say, storage for the winter.

I want to thank everyone for a great season. We will be putting our plans together over the next week or so and will let you know more when we do... I am looking for help in sailing to Sarnia sometime around the weekend of Trans  Superior. - If you can help, please let me know.

David -

27 June With a light air adventure known as Duluth - Bayfield behind us (Congrats to Eric Thomas on Polar Bear who single handed his way to a huge finish), we need to look to this weekend and the beginning of a very busy time for us.  We have Around the Islands, Race Week and the Mac over the next 3 weeks. Schedule has been updated, check it against yours and make sure it's accurate. We have had a number of changes and we want to get it right.

21 June - We have the boat pretty much set for the Duluth to Bayfield race this weekend.

The Q is based in Bayfield Wisconsin and races in the Wayzata Yacht Club's - Apostle Islands Station and as part of the Lake Superior  Yachting Association. With a long and successful history spanning over 20  years of Lake Superior racing, our adventures have taken the boat to Europe, Caribbean and most of the Great Lakes.

This website is a work in progress. The schedule and blog are now posted, with crew news soon to come. Anyone who is interested in helping with the web site is encouraged to contact us.
